We had a great show!
The first annual San Antonio Clay Festival and Sale was held in the East Parking Lot at Pearl, 200 E. Grayson, on Saturday, November 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organized by the San Antonio Potters Guild, it was a joyful celebration of clay and the artists’ ability to transform clay into objects of grace, beauty and function. Fifty ceramic artists from the greater San Antonio area had their work on display and for sale at the Festival. There were demonstrationers of wheel- throwing and hand-building as well as information about the Guild, ceramic classes, supplies, and upcoming events was available. By coinciding with the Pearl Farmers Market, there was ample selection of good things to eat and drink for visitors to the Festival. It was a great beginning for a new San Antonio tradition.
The exhibition committee did an excellent job organizing the event. They provided the participants ample enough information to make the sale successful. There were seasoned and first time sellers. Organizing an annual sale is a great endevor and success resulted from excellent teamwork. Thank you Sara Boyd for your leadership.
